The consortium of eight organisations brings together two Universities (University of Bamberg and ECN), one major European research establishment (TWI), two composite manufacturers and end users (FAC and AGI-F, of which FAC is the 6th largest Automotive tier 1 supplier and AGI-F is one of the main aircraft manufacturer), one commercial software vendor (ESI) and two specialized SMEs (LOIRETCH and ETS) from four different countries. The participating SMEs contribute excellence in specific technologies: manufacture of bespoke tooling (LOIRETECH), process control systems and bespoke equipment (ETS) and virtual manufacturing tools (ESI). Their participation in SIMUTOOL will be vital to the project’s success. These SMEs expect, through their participation in SIMUTOOL, to further increase their competitiveness in their areas of expertise.
Four different countries are represented in SIMUTOOL:: five beneficiaries from France, one from United Kingdom, one from Greece and one from Germany. Although French companies dominate the consortium, all the industrial partners from France have a strong international presence throughout Europe, and internationally. LOIRETECH has a subsidiary in Canada, and ESI has a number of sites across Europe (their expertise in modelling electromagnetic fields resides at their Swedish site). AGI-F is the biggest aircraft manufacturer in Europe and, with Boeing, dominates the aircraft market. Therefore, SIMUTOOL has a strong international appeal, and ensures efficient dissemination of results throughout Europe. In total, the above partnership ensures an efficient cooperation, state-of-the-art knowledge, and access to all necessary information for achieving the objectives of the project and avoiding duplication of work which has been already been performed in other projects.
